Since Parliament has returned from the summer recess, there have been many changes at the top of Government. Some of the notable changes were in the family sector and its public affairs plans. Both the Children and Families Minister Sarah Teather, and Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families Tim Loughton, have been replaced.

The Family Room will be the focal point for debate and expertise on family policy during this important conference season. The new Under Secretary of State for Children and Families, Edward Timpson MP, is speaking at a Family Room event at the Conservative Party Conference. Given all the changes and the current uncertainty concerning how to “fund” childcare, Mothers at Home Matter sent a representative to the fringe meeting.
